How it works Hypnotherapy is a natural process - we do it all the time, in conversation, while listening to music, and during familiar tasks and activities. It turns out the mind is particularly open to learning when we are relaxed like this.
The "solution focused" approach focuses on what you want, more than on problems or their causes. It doesn’t need much conscious effort or analytical thought. Instead we stimulate the imagination to create rich pictures of positive outcomes, and let the subconscious mind do the rest.
In a deep state of hypnosis, people are actually more in control than when they are awake. They are always able to return to full awareness at any point, and usually do so feeling refreshed, lighter and more optimistic.
Making an appointment Phone or email is a great way to make contact first. Then we can make an appointment. All our appointments currently happen by video-call, or on the phone.
Sessions last 50 minutes, usually weekly. 6-12 sessions is normal, sometimes more, but some people stop smoking after one session or happily overcome a phobia after four. Our objective is to get you to a point of feeling calm, and confident that it's going to stay that way.
We work with adults and children from 8 years old. For children we suggest a first meeting with a parent (free of charge). A parent is then required to attend all sessions.
We can also explore how the process complements the use of medication, in consultation with your doctor where relevant. We are fully accredited, registered, DBS-checked and insured.
Your investment The benefits of hypnotherapy are significant, namely the freedom to enjoy life and achieve your goals, free from anxiety, depressed feelings or anger. Success requires a commitment and a desire to change - it's not magic and no one can do it for you. At the same time, the process is straightforward and enjoyable and we aim to make it as easy, fast and cost effective as possible. Sessions costs £70. A single session for smoking cessation takes about 2 hours and costs £150.
